Brian (Bernard) Campbell passed away on Sunday, February 15th 2026. In the dedicated care of the staff of the Claddagh Ward at University Hospital Galway, following a long illness borne with strength and dignity.
Reunited with his beloved recently deceased wife Catherine (née Forde) and sons Joseph and Gerard in heaven.
Cherished father of Catríona and father-in-law of Shane (Keating) and adored grandad of Kate and Jamie. Pre-deceased by his parents John and Brigid and brothers Pat and Terence. Brian will be very sadly missed by his sister Margaret Casey (Newtownbond), his nieces, nephews, extended family, former Garda colleagues, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Wednesday evening (Feb. 18th) from 6.30 pm until 8 pm. Removal from his home on Thursday morning, arriving to the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 am. Burial afterwards in St Coman’s Cemetery.
