Arigna man completes epic 23,000km cycle to Sydney

A Roscommon nurse has completed an epic 23,000 kilometre charity cycle after arriving at Sydney Opera House in the early hours of this morning Irish time.

Arigna native Fergal Guihen set off from his home in March 2024 and has since cycled through 28 countries.
The Rossie to Aussie Cycle is in aid of Mayo-Roscommon Hospice and North West STOP.

It has seen Fergal traversing through Europe and Asia including challenging legs through Iran, Afghanistan and China.
Dan Dooner chatted to Fergal before his arrival to Sydney and reflected on his journey:
