For many senior citizens, opportunities to meet friends at settings like day care, bingo have been replaced by phone supports. While the Leitrim Calling Service has been in place for 17 years now; it has seen a huge increase in demand for its befriending supports and is now helping people to think beyond Covid 19 and return hopefully to a new normal. Marian Quigley has been telling MaryClaire Grealy more about their work through the last year and how people have been put in touch with them.
