The well known man Tom Stokes

Tom Stokes died on Tuesday, 9th June, peacefully, surrounded by his family in Sligo University Hospital.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary and his dear walking partners Fr. Martin Mulvaney and Michael McNulty.
Tom will be sadly missed by his loving family, daughters; Anne, Maggie, Bridget, Winnie, Mary, Kathleen, Lena, Eileen and Julia, sons; Edward, Patrick, Tom, Martin, Willie, John, Michael, Brian, Tony and Bob, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, his adored grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, sisters; May, Maggie, Bridget and Kathleen, brother Willie, sister-in-law Winnie Mongan, brothers-in-law; Michael Mongan, Ned Mongan, John Nevin and Tom McDonagh, nieces, nephews, neighbours and his many good friends.

We hold you close within our hearts,
And there you shall remain,
To walk with us throughout our lives
Until we meet again.

So rest in peace, dear Tom,
And thanks for all you’ve done:
We pray that God has given you
The crown you’ve truly won.

Tom will be reposing in his home on Friday 12th from 1 o'clock until 5 o'clock, followed with removal to St. Mary's Church, Carrick-on Shannon for prayers at 6 o'clock.

Funeral Mass on Saturday 13th at 12 o'clock. Following Mass, Tom will be laid to rest in the family plot in St.Mary's cemetery, Carrick-on-Shannon.

Tom's family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Care Staff of the Coronary Care Unit of Sligo University Hospital and the Ambulance Staff who looked after our father so well. Your care and kindness will never be forgotten, Thank you all.

If you cannot attend the funeral or sympathise with the family, you can now leave your messages of condolences and memories on this page.  We hold comments for moderation.
