Sean Cox died peacefully on Saturday, 24th January 2026, aged 67, at his home and surrounded by those who loved him.
Beloved husband and best friend of Mary (née Lannon) and adored father of Caoilfhionn (Brosnan) and Bláithín (Conlon). Sadly missed by his wife, daughters, sons-in-law, Seághan and Patrick; and much loved grandchildren, Séadna and Seán. Warmly remembered by his brothers Henry, Micheál and Dominic; sisters, Mary and Paula; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family together with a large circle of friends and neighbours.
Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Breege; sister, Eileen; and good friends, John Roddy and Ollie Hanley.
May Sean's gentle soul rest in peace.
Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27), on Monday evening from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock. Removal from his home on Racecourse Road on Tuesday morning at 10.20am arriving to St Patrick’s Church, Knockcroghery for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 o’clock. Burial afterwards in Gailey Cemetery.
