Mattie Murphy

Mattie Murphy died on Wednesday, 1st July peacefully, in his 97th year. In the devoted care of the staff at Sonas Nursing Home, Cloverhill.
He is pre-deceased by his sons-in-law; Michael Stynes and Dave Bell, parents Elizabeth and Patrick, brothers; Martin, Patrick and Eddie and sisters; Eileen, Annie May, Delia, Una, Lily, Ann and May.
Mattie will be forever missed and remembered with love by his family; beloved wife Gertie, daughters; Mairéad and Siobhan, brother John (Australia), his adored grandchildren; Aoife and Conor, brother-in-law and by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Sunday from 4 o’clock until 5.30 o’clock, followed by removal to St Joseph’s Church, Kilteevan (F42 DP86). Mass of the Resurrection on Monday morning at 11 o’clock. Burial afterwards in Kilteevan Cemetery.
No flowers please.
The Murphy family would like to acknowledge the kindness and care shown to Mattie and to them by the staff at Sonas, Cloverhill while he was in their care. They would also like to convey their deep appreciation to their neighbours and friends for their support at this time.
