Mary Murray (née McDonnell) passed away on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026. Surrounded by her loving family and in the devoted care of the staff at The Claddagh Ward at Galway University Hospital.
Pre-deceased by her parents Laurence Joe and Tessie McDonnell.
Forever missed by her much loved husband Francis, sons Pádraig and Damien and daughters Maria and Thérèse. Remembered by her sons-in-law Michael Carty and Adrian Forkin and daughter-in-law Martina Burke. Adored by her grandchildren Aaron, Ciarán, Elisha, Rónán, Rían, Micheál, Senan and Eoin. Deeply regretted by her extended family, neighbours and many good friends.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Friday evening from 6 o’c until 8 o’c followed by removal (via Sandfield, Lacken and Athleague) to Damien and Martina’s home in Lenamalla. Removal on Saturday morning at 11.15 o’c arriving to the Church of Christ the Good Shepherd, Four Roads for Funeral Mass at 11.30 o’c. Burial afterwards in Tisrara Cemetery.

The Murray family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all their relatives, neighbours and friends for their kindness and support at this time. They would also like to acknowledge the incredible care shown both to Mary and to them by the wonderful team in The Claddagh Ward at Galway University Hospital during her time there.
