Johnny passed away peacefully on 27 June 2026, surrounded by his loving family, in the dedicated care of the staff of Roscommon University Hospital.
Deeply missed by his loving wife Leonie, daughters; Marrita (Richardson) and Karl (Miley), sons; Michael and John D (JD), sons-in law; Ray, Mark and John, daughter-in-law Joanna, sisters; Eileen Jennings (Navan) and Anne Eivers (Ballynacargy), his loving grandchildren Sean, Lily, Emma, Isla, Conor, Ria and Clodagh, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of neighbours and lifelong friends.
Pre-deceased by his parents, Michael and Mamie, sisters, Catherine, Mary and Geraldine and by his loving niece Rose-Anna.
Johnny was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a good neighbour and a tireless supporter of the local community.

Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon F42 NH27, on Monday evening from 5 o’c until 7 o’c. Removal from his home on Tuesday morning arriving to the Church of the Assumption, Fuerty F42 DX25 for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 o’c. Burial afterwards in Fuerty Cemetery.
Family flowers only and house private on Tuesday morning please.
