Jim Tunney passed away on Thursday, June 4th, 2026. Peacefully at the Mater Private, Dublin, following a lengthy illness borne with characteristic grace and courage.
Predeceased by his parents Ellen & Patrick, brothers Tom, John, Matt, Frank and his granddaughters Ríona & Réiltin.
Devoted husband of Kathleen and loving father of Seamus, Mary, Brendan, Michael & John. Adored Papa to his grandchildren Isobel, Mark & Síle; ElleAnna, John, Grace & Theodore; Molly, Méabh & James; Daniel, Finn, Rían & Darragh; Patrick, J.R., Isadora & Louis.
Sadly missed by his wife & family, his sister Eileen, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown (F42 RK72), on Sunday, June 7th, from 5pm until 7pm, followed by Removal to The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strokestown. Funeral Mass on Monday, June 8th, at 11am. Burial afterwards in Aughavale Cemetery, Westport, Co. Mayo, at 3pm.
