Kilnacarrow, Ballinalee, Co Longford and Leitrim, Newtownforbes, Co Longford.

James (Jimmy) McVeigh passed away on Tuesday, June 30th, 2026. Peacefully,  with his heartbroken family by his side. After an illness borne with great courage and determination.

Predeceased by his parents; Mary and Dan Mc Veigh, brother Paddy, sister Elizabeth, parents in law; John and Rosetta Dillion, dear cousin Michael and brother in law Conor.

Sadly missed by his wife Mary, daughters; Rosemary Delvin (Lisduff, Longford) and Hazel (Gerry Tully Granard). Fondly remembered by his grandchildren; Shannen, Katie and Dan and great grandchildren. Deeply regretted by his sister Mary Burns (Dring), nephew, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, relatives, neighbours and wide circle of dear friends.

Loving you was easy,

We did it every day,

Missing you will be heartache,

That will never go away.

Jimmy will repose at Kelly's Funeral Home, Athlone Road , Longford N39K81 on Wednesday July 1st from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral mass will take place on Thursday July 2nd at 12 noon in St Marys Church, Ennybegs, Killoe, Co Longford with burial afterwards in Aughaboy Cemetery, Killoe.

The Mc Veigh Family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated doctors, nurses and caregivers who provided exceptional care and compassion during Jimmy's illness. The kindness, patience and professionalism brought comfort not only to Jimmy but also to our entire family. We will forever remember the gentle hands, listening hearts and unwavering support you offered in our time of need.
