Carrowncully, Ballinameen, Boyle, Co. Roscommon and Clontarf, Co. Dublin.

Florence (Flo) Flynn (née Shannon) passed away on Thursday, 2nd July 2026. Peacefully, at Roscommon Hospice, after a short illness borne with great courage and dignity, with the support of her devoted husband and family.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her husband John, sister Teresa Gavican (Richie), brother Peter Shannon (Maura) and sister-in-law Sr. Marie (LSA). Remembered by her adored nieces and nephews, Suzanne, Lorraine, Yvonne, Gina, Tracey, Shane, Richard, Jonathan and Kevin. Deeply regretted by her extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Florence’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Mater Private Hospital, Sligo University Hospital, Abbey Haven Nursing Care Centre, Boyle and Roscommon Hospice for the wonderful care Florence received during her illness.

May Florence’s Gentle Soul Rest In Eternal Peace.

Reposing in Mahon’s Funeral Home, Boyle, (F52ND23) on Sunday (5th July) from 4.30pm until 7pm. Removal from her home on Monday morning to the Church of the Holy Trinity, Kilmaryal (F45NX60), for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am. A private Cremation service will take place thereafter.
