David Connaughton passed away peacefully on November 8th, 2025. In the wonderful care of the staff in the University Hospital, Galway, surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved son of the late Patsy and Andy, and brother of the late Sinéad.
Forever missed by his brothers; Brian, Tom, Andrew, Padraig, Aidan, Martin, Noel and Paul. Remembered by his god-daughter Rachel, sisters-in-law; Imelda, Deirdre, Loretta, Olivia, Bernie and Aishlin. Sadly missed by his forever friend Patricia and her family, nieces and nephews; Aaron, Ethan, Louise, Aisling, Gary, Ciara, Daniel, Emma, Seoirse, Alisha, Brandon, Mia and Sophie. Deeply regretted by his relatives, neighbours in Knockcroghery and Brideswell, work colleagues in Irish Rail, and a wide circle of good friends.

Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Monday from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock.
Removal from the family home in Sandfield on Tuesday morning at 10.30 o’clock, arriving at St Patrick’s Church, Knockcroghery for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 o’clock.
Burial afterwards in Gailey Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
The Connaughton family would sincerely like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses who helped care for David.
They’d also like to acknowledge their friends and neighbours for their kindness at this time.
