Sunday, 5th, 2026. who died in the arms of his heartbroken family

Devastated by his loss are his cherished wife Eileen, his adored daughters; Hannah and Ciara, their partners; Eoghan and Jack and the light of his life, his granddaughter Sonas. Sorely missed also by beloved family friends Helen and Sue.

Predeceased by him are his brother Joseph, twin brother Noel and parents Kitty and Pak. He will be missed by his sisters; Mary, Ann, Bernie, Yolie and Una, brothers; Michael, Martin, Pádraig, John and Kevin, their partners and children, his work colleagues in the Department of Defence and a wide circle of friends. His family would like to thank the medical staff who supported him in his illness particularly oncologist Dr. Zach Coyne, the nursing staff in St. Joseph's ward, UCHG, in particular Lauren whose care meant so much to us in his final hours. We would also like to express our gratitude to Cancer Care West for their support.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song.

 Funeral Arrangements:

Tuesday, 7th July 2026: Chris will lie in Repose at home (H91 Y56Y) from 4 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Wednesday, 8th July: The family will gather at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) from 5 p.m., where Chris will lie in repose. At about 6 p.m., they will share words and music in a heartfelt attempt to do justice to his wonderful life.

Thursday, 9th July 2026. A Committal Service for the family and relatives will take place privately at Shannon Crematorium prior to Cremation.

Parking Information at the funeral Parlour; Please approach the funeral parlour entrance on foot from Fr. Burke Park. Street parking may be available on Fr. Griffin Road, within the Claddagh, on Henry Street, on Sea Road, on The Crescent and on Doctor Colohan Road.
