Bernie Carty was Born on 4th November, 1932.
Tuesday, 20th January, 2026 peacefully, in his ninety fourth year, in the loving care of the staff at Sligo University Hospital.
After a life well lived, having worked in the Bank of Ireland, Elphin for 30 years, was a founder member of the Elphin Windmill Committee, Elphin Comhaltas, St. Patrick’s Day parade participant and Daffodil Day organiser.
Predeceased by his parents Mai and Patrick and brother Padraig.
He will be sadly missed by his cousins, good neighbours, especially Carmel and Donal Duignan, former work colleagues at Bank of Ireland (Elphin), especially Patsy Farrell and his many friends.
Reposing at Brady’s Funeral Home, Elphin on Thursday (22nd Jan.) from 5.30pm with removal at 6.30pm to St. Michael’s Church, Croghan to arrive at 7pm (via Elphin Windmill). Funeral Mass on Friday at 12noon. Bernie will be laid to rest afterwards in Eastersnow Cemetery, (via Knocknafishogue).
