Roscommon full-forward Daniel Glynn scored twelve points as Roscommon opened their Allianz hurling league division 3A campaign with victory over Louth.
The rossies ran out 3-18 to 1-06 winners over Louth in Dr. Hyde Park, outscoring their opponents 2-12 to one goal in the second half.
Meanwhile Longford lost to Monaghan in their game in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park by four points 16 points to 12.
In a keenly fought contest the sides been eleven points apiece before Monaghan finished strongly.
In Division 3B Leitrim held on for a 1-9 to 0-8 victory over Sligo at Tourlestrane.
Elsewhere Clare edged out Tipperary in division 1A as David Reidy got the only goal of the game in the dying moments.
The Banner emerged deserved 1-21 to 19 points winners in Ennis.
While a late scoring spree spared All-Ireland champions Galway’s blushes as Antrim ran the tribesmen close. Galway won out 1-19 to 1-16 at Pearse Stadium but needed late scores as they survived a real scare.
Limerick were 1-25 to 18 points winners over Laois, whereas David Dunne scored a brace for Wexford in a 2-20 to 19 point win over Waterford.
