Buccaneers are home to Ballina in the final round of the Connacht Senior League. Kick off for this vital encounter at Dubarry Park is 2.30p.m.
Buccs will be chasing victory by a high margin if they are to retain the league title for a fifth season in a row.
Meanwhile Ballina will be hoping to finally kick start their season as they have underperformed to date and languish at the bottom of the league table with just a solitary point.
Buccs and Sligo are battling for the league honours and the north-westerners are currently in pole position, with a scoring difference of +29 ahead of the Athlone club.
Sligo benefited from an opening day romp against Ballina, the Hamilton Park side then salvaged a draw against Buccs with a final move of that match converted try to share the spoils 21-21.
Sligo travel to Glenina on Saturday where their massive pack should ensure they come out on top against Galwegians.
Meanwhile Buccs must take care of their own business when Ballina come to the midlands. Ballina are likely to be better organised and stronger at this stage just ahead of the AIL start.
The Pirates should prevail on home soil, however to retain the title they must better Sligo’s scoring difference by at least 30 points.
If Sligo win without a bonus point, then a bonus point victory by Buccs would ensure they retain the title.
It is a difficult ask especially as the Shannonsiders side has been much changed week by week for a number of reasons.
However, for this “must win” joust they will hope to have Callum Boland, Ruairi Byrne, Rory O’Connor, Corey Reid and Eoghan O’Reilly available for consideration although suspension rules Rory Moloney out.
Darragh Corbett, Shane Layden, Martin Staunton and Torin Rensford have been leaders to date and quite a number of the younger players have staked strong claims for starting berths.
If Buccs are close to full strength and apply themselves with focus and discipline from start to finish they can get the necessary result.
However, all is not in their own control so a close eye is likely to be kept on proceedings at Crowley Park! Let’s see and hear a big crowd at this game.
