Buccaneers Belfast Bound

Buccaneers are away to second placed Malone in Saturday’s All-Ireland League Division 1B fix-ture at Gibson Park, Belfast. Kick-off is 2.30 p.m.

Malone were knocked off top spot following last Saturday’s narrow defeat at Naas.

The midlanders will have a point to prove too, having left the Belfast side off the hook at Dubar-ry Park earlier in the season.

A 56 phase final move did not reap a reward for Buccs and Peter O’Donnell’s side lost by a soli-tary point.

Buccaneers have recent improved form that has resulted in three wins in their last four outings.

Peter Claffey should be fit to return in the pack where Rory Moloney will have benefited from game time last week. Simon Meagher is ruled out.

Buccaneers are eight points behind new leaders Old Wesley, there is much to play for in the re-maining five rounds All-Ireland league fixtures with Buccaneers just one point off safety.

Buccaneers beat St Mary’s College 24-17 in their Division 1B clash in the All-Ireland league clash last weekend.

The Pirates picked up a bonus point with four tries coming from Conan O’Donnell, Eoghan Masterson, Rory O’Connor and Corey Reid. Luke Carty kicked two conversions.

Buccaneers head coach reviewed the St Mary’s game and previewed the match with Malone with Kevin McDermott.
