Athlone Town Set For Bray Wanderers Trip

Terry Butler admits that thoughts have already turned to next season as Athlone Town prepare for a trip to Bray Wanderers.

Athlone went down to league leaders Shelbourne last week with Butler admitting small margins were once again the difference, which has marred their league campaign.

“You couldn’t do anything about Kilduff’s second goal, it was a worldie” explained Butler as Shelbourne ran out 2-1 winners last week.

“It was very disappointing, as we had about 70% possession” added Butler. “But we were playing the league leaders who have an amazing bench with the likes of Conan Byrne.”

“I thought we might have got something out of it” declared a disappointed Butler.

“It is small margins again which make positions in the table. With the likes of Rob Manley grabbing late goals it’s something we have to look for in the future.”
