In soccer, Athlone Town hope to get back to winning ways in the SSE Airtricity League first division this weekend.

The midlands club host Galway United at a quarter to eight on Friday night. It will be their ninth league game and completes the opening round of fixtures for them.

The club won three and lost five games so far in the competition.
