The previous two finals between the two saw Brigids take the spoils in 2011 and 2006 by a single point so can they keep their good record against the Galway side going.

Speaking ahead of the final to our Roscommon GAA correspondent Willie Hegarty was St.Brigids wing back Daragh Sheehy.

It is a huge game for both sides but the two teams semi final appearances were far from similar as Corofin had to battle past defending champions Castlebar Mitchels in extra time the Roscommon champions had a comfortable win against Leitrim champions Aughawillan.

Daragh spoke about the semi final win

“Look we had a game plan and we just went out tried to attack in the first fifteen minutes and everything went our way in the ten or fifteen minutes which we put up quite a score”

Despite the easy semi final win Brigids won’t make any excuses for not being ready against a Corofin side who were All Ireland Champions back in 2015.

It’s a huge game, two of the best sides in Connacht over the past decade do battle to be crowned the best team in the West.
