A Statue of Gerry O’Malley will be unveiled in Brideswell today

A statue of Roscommon GAA legend Gerry O’Malley will be unveiled at a ceremony in his native Brideswell today at 3pm. The Statue will be unveiled by GAA commentator Brian Carthy.

Dual player Gerry OMalley played for Roscommon from 1947 to 1964 and captained them in an All Ireland final and he gained four Connacht championship medals.

He died  aged 87 in January last year and a memorial committee was set up to fundraise for the project.
