St Peters -2019 RDL Challenge Cup Champions

St Peters of Athlone are the Roscommon and District League Challenge Cup champions after a four nil win over Moore United in the final in Lecarrow.

The West Athlone side added to their league title this season with an impressive performance.

Moore United managed by David Cummins defeated Roscommon and District League heavyweights Boyle Celtic in the semi-final last week but couldn’t overcome St Peters this afternoon.

Centre-back Niall Scullion opened the scoring in the 14th minute. The former Athlone Town player went on to earn the man of the match accolade.

Gary Stevens doubled their advantage in the 17th minute.

Midway through the second half Chris Reid added a third goal. Aidan Ward crowned a great day for the club with their fourth goal in injury time.

St Peters missed out on the division one cup but managed to win the premier division and the Challenge Cup.
