Roscommon secured the Allianz League Division 3A title with a three point victory over Armagh in Navan.
The Roscommon men wining out 0-14 to 11 points. The Rossies led seven points to six at half-time, second half scores from Shane Curely and two Cathal Dolan free’s, Cathal Dolan, Nathan Curry and two from Padraig Kelly.
“It’s a great feeling, it’s been a hard year” admitted Roscommon hurling Captain Eamon Flanagan after lifting the division 3A title.
“We came out against the wind in the second-half against a tough Armagh team and we were able to kick-on and pick up the win.”
Roscommon showed good confidence to not panic, a point highlighted by Flanagan. “We played them against a strong wind.”
“We were seven points down and clawed it back to seven each at half-time.”
“We’ll kick on into the Christy Ring, we got a bit of rattle last year, but we’re more prepared this year and we’re chopping at the bit.”
