Roscommon snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, scoring 1-5 in the last 10 minutes to see off Tipperary by two points.


Tipperary looked home and hosed as they led by 3-9 to 12 points, however Diarmuid Murtagh goal and two points swung the game back in the Rossies favour.

Niall Daly, Conor Devanney and Donnie Smith all scored points to seal the victory for Kevin McStay’s men, Smith’s score arriving in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

Tipperary took a three point lead into the break with Conor Sweeney getting a goal from a penalty after 20 minutes as Tipp led 1-6 to 0-6 at the interval.

Liam McGrath’s 25th minute penalty put Tipp in front with Michael Quinlivan 65th minute seeming to seal it for Tipperary.

However Roscommon fought back in the closing stages thanks to Murtagh, Daly, Devanney and Smith to win by two points.
