Padraig Pearse booked a Connacht senior semi-final meeting with Tir Chonail Gaels of London after their 3-7 to six point win over Tourlestrane yesterday.
Niall Carty’s goal after 10 minutes was what separated the sides after a drab opening half finished 1-2 to 0-3 the break.
The visitors would take a real foothold in the contest seven minutes into the restart when Hubert Darcy coolly dispatched a penalty to Tourlestrane’s net.
Five minutes later Pearse were reduced to 14 men with the sending off of Lorcan Daly.
While a brace of points from Cathal Henry offered the hosts an outside chance, Paul Carey injury time saw Pearse into the Connacht semi-final.
