McStay shuffles Roscommon pack for crunch Donegal encounter

The Roscommon senior football Manager Kevin McStay has named his team to face Donegal in round two of the Allianz league on Sunday next. The team features a number of changes from last week’s side that faced Tyrone in Omagh.

Ultan Harney will miss the big game in the Hyde after picking an injury playing for DCU in the Sigerson Cup on Wednesday. David Murray will also miss out on the game with the Ulster side after he suffered an injured on Sunday in the defat against Tyrone.  Murray is  following the concussion protocols.

Roscommon Vice-Captain Sean Mc Dermott reverts to his usual home on the full back line as he looks set to make his 159th appearance in the primrose and blue.

Kevin Mc Stay retains faith in his debutants from last week with Éire Óg’s Colm Lavin, Oran’s Thomas Featherstone and Tulsk’s Tadhg O Rourke all being handed starting roles again while Shane Killoran who came on as a sub against Tyrone to make his first national start retains his place on the team as does his Elphin clubmate Fintan Cregg.

Roscommon Gaels’ John Mc Manus who came on as a sub last Sunday has been handed a starting role on Sunday for the meeting with the 2012 All Ireland champions.

Sunday’s match marks a return of Allianz League football to Roscommon’s Hyde Park following the issues associated with the pitch last year. Roscommon played 8 Allianz League Games in different locations last year including the game against Dublin which was moved to Carrick on Shannon at very short notice.

The game throws in at 2-30pm on Sunday with tickets on the day costing €15 or €12 if purchased before midnight on Saturday at Roscommon GAA or through Supervalu or Centra outlets nationwide.
