Roscommon minors came crashing back down to earth after Mayo ran in 4-14 to secure a 21 point win.
The game was effectively over after 18 minutes as two goals from Ciiaran Mylett either side of Paddy Heneghan finding the net sent Mayo into a 3-4 to three point lead.
Frank Irwin found the Roscommon net four minutes later, helping Mayo to lead by 15 points at half-time, 4-8 to 0-3.
The game was effectively over as a contest with just eight points being registered in the second half as Mayo secured a 4-14 to 0-5 victory.
Elsewhere Galway secured a two point win over Sligo, 1-10 to 15 points, to register their first win of the season.
Mayo sit atop the Connacht minor football table with four point’s two games followed by Roscommon and Mayo who have both played a game each.
Leitrim and Sligo have both failed to register a point from their opening game.
Roscommon and Leitrim meet next Friday May 31st in Dr. Hyde Park.
