Division 3A: Roscommon See Off Monaghan

Roscommon were 1-21 to 14 points winners over Monaghan in Division 3A of the Allianz National Hurling league.

Roscommon started well going five points up after ten minutes Cillian Egan with Roscommon’s goal after 15 minutes. Roscommon led 1-13 to six at half-time.

Monaghan battled bravely in the second half but Padraig McGahern was sent off in the closing minutes and Roscommon scored the last four points to emerge with a ten points win.


It’s two wins from two for Ciaran Comerford’s side. Monaghan manager Trevor Hilliard lined up for the side as player-manager as Monaghan missed several players who are involved in the Castleblayney Dunammagin All-Ireland Final next weekend.

in Division 3B, Leitrim were beaten by one point for the second week in a row in Division 3B. Sligo got the better of Martin Cunniffe’s side 2-14 to 19 points.
