Neale Fenn has warned his players about the danger of Wexford’s Danny Furlong as his side look to build their championship challenge.
Bottom placed Wexford travel to City Calling Stadium on Saturday evening with Town just one point off the summit as they edge into the final third of the season.
“I think he’s a very good player, he plays on the shoulder and always looking to get in behind” explained Fenn of strike Furlong.
“He can take his chance as well. He’s a player we have to watch, he scored against us down there so we know what he’s all about” added Fenn.
“It’s a game we’re looking forward to and if we want to challenge for the championship then it’s a game we must win” explained Fenn
Wexford sit bottom of the SSE Airtricity League first division with eight points from 15 games and a goal difference of -19.
Fenn admitted his side need to take three points from Saturday evening’s encounter and look to claim a further win away to Bray Wanderers next week ahead of the mid-season break.
“We’re always hoping to get maximum points out of every game. It feels like the half-way mark when you get to the break even though it’s not the half-way mark.”
“It’s kind of like the old days, who was top by Christmas, whose top by the break, we certainly what to be in around there, were not top at the moment but we’re second.”
“It is a pivotal moment in the league when the break comes it gives you an idea of where everyone is.”
