Town Begin 2019 Away To Limerick

Longford Town will begin their 2019 SSE Airtricity League First Division campaign away to Limerick on February 22nd.

The FAI have today announced the 2019 SSE Airtricity League schedule with de Town’s first home seeing Drogheda United visit City Calling stadium on Saturday March second.

The first El Classico of the season is set for Friday March 22nd in Athlone Town Stadium. Again the 10 first division teams will meet each other over three rounds with the final weekend of games scheduled for September 21st.


The first division winners will be promoted to the 2020 Premier Division. The play-off’s will see teams third and fourth in the first division meet home and away on October 4th and 11th.

The winners of this tie will meet the second placed finishers on October 18th and 25th. The winner of the first division play-off will face the team finishing ninth in the premier division on October 28th and November 1st.

The EA Sports Cup first round is set for Monday March fourth with the final set for September 14.

The Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup begins weekending Sunday August 11th.

SSE Airtricity League champions Dundalk start the defence of their title at home to Sligo Rovers on Friday February 15th. The premier division will be played over four rounds.

The mid-season break for both the premier and first division is set for June 15th to 27th.
