Table Toppers Longford Town And Cabinteely Meet

Neale Fenn knows that Longford Town that everyone is out to get Longford Town as Cabinteely visit City Calling stadium on Saturday night.

“You do become a bit of a target when you’re top of the table, everyone wants to beat the team at the top” explained Fenn.

“I thought we played quiet well in the first half against them the last time” explained Fenn on this sides last meeting a 1-1 draw in March.

“The second half they came out and it was a windy day but it should be a different game as the pitch should be a lot better and we can play our passing game” explained Fenn.

A feature of Longford Town’s season has been a rock solid defence with just two goals conceded all season.

“People ask me, would you like to score more goals” explained Fenn, “But we’ve got a rock solid defence and because of that we have the best goal difference in the league.”

“We look soild, we look like we’re defending well, to keep clean sheets you need the whole team playing well, but that’s not just the defenders, the whole team defends well and we all press together.

“Conor Kenna, Anto Breslin, Mick McDonnell and Shane Elworthy have been exceptional and of course Lee Stacey have all been exceptional, long may it continue.

Fenn also confirmed he has a clean bill of health and a full panel available for Saturday nights meeting.
