Rathcline depart 2018 Leinster Championship

Rathcline (Longford) 0-13 Horeswood (Wexford) 1-11 in the Leinster Intermediate championship quarter final in New Ross.

Horeswood finished with 12 players and Rathcline ended with 14 as four players were sent-off in the dramatic match.

Liam Tullys Rathcline were leading by six points to five at half-time and were two points ahead with ten minutes remaining. 0-10 to 0-08.


The Wexford side battled back and got themselves level with three minutes to go. The home side kicked the winning score and march onto the last four.

Oran Kenny was Rathclines top scorer with five points in the game.

Shamrocks (Offaly), Two Mile House (Kildare), Courtwood (Laois) are also through to the semi-finals. The semi-finals pairings are Two Mile House v Courtwood and Shamrocks v Horeswood.

Rathcline will compete in the Longford senior football championship next season.
