Longford and Wicklow shared the spoils in their opening All-Ireland Ladies Intermediate group game, Longford 2-16 Wicklow 4-10 in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
Michelle Farrell found the net for Longford after six minutes but Laurie Ahearn goal six minutes later gave Wicklow a five point lead
Maeve Devlin scored the third goal of the game to move Wicklow further ahead with Longford’s Ashling Greene converting a penalty on 20 minutes to make it 2-5 to 2-4 in favour of Wicklow.
Longford responded well to lead at half-time 2-7 to 2-5. Cara Shannon’s early second half goal gave Wicklow a two point lead with the sides exchanging the lead throughout.
Two points from Farrell moved Longford ahead on 43 minutes before Laura Hogan’s goal moved Wicklow back in front.
Wicklow keeper Kim Connors denied Michelle Farrell on 55 minutes before two late Aoife Darcy frees levelled the game 2-16 to 4-10.
