Longford Town’s Fixtures For 2017 Season

The fixtures for the 2017 SSE Airtricity League First Division were announced and Longford Town will begin their campaign against Shelbourne at Tolka Park on Friday the 24th of February.

The Towns first game at The City Calling Stadium will see Cobh Ramblers make the visit up on Saturday the 4th of March.

Longford manager Alan Matthews will hope to guide his team back to the Premier Division in the first time of asking after the disappointment of this year relegation from the Premier Division.

Longford have already been busy in the transfer market with the re-signing of Kealan Dillon for 2017. Daniel O’Reilly has returned to the club from Eastbourne.

Jake Kelly, formerly of St.Pats, Bohs and Brays has signed on for the 2017 season.

Despite the new faces coming in Alan Matthews will want to see a better understanding of the style of play he wants from his players this year now that he has had long period of time to spend with the team with no competition.
