Longford Town face into their second game of the season without the services of Dean Byrne who sustained a serious injury against Shamrock Rovers II.
“It’s a difficult one for Dean, the whole group wish him the best going forward” explained Longford Town boss Daire Doyle.
“It’s still quiet swollen so it will be a little bit of time before we know what has to be done, but it doesn’t look great unfortunately.”
On the field Doyle is expected a very difficult challenge in his first away game of the season after goals from Aodh Dervin and Rob Manley sealed victory over Shamrock Rovers II.
Drogheda got their campaign of to a wining start also with a 2-0 win away to Cobh Ramblers through a Chris Lyons strike and a Sean Brennan penalty.
“They’ve had a good win both teams will look to leave a mark on this one and it’s going to very much down to a performance on the night” explained Doyle.
“We’re very early days, if we get the three points brilliant but if we don’t it’s not the end of the world” added Doyle.
“It’s the performance and attitude I’m looking for and I think we have the panel to get the performance and the victory.
Dean Byrne is the only absentee for Longford Town with Daire Doyle reporting all other players fit and available.
