Longford Town will play Sligo Rovers in the first round of the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup in a game that will surely attract a large crowd to the City Calling Stadium for a big local derby.
Athlone Town will have to travel to Ballincollig to face the non-league Cork outfit.
Holders Cork City will also be on the road, John Caulfield’s men have been drawn away to a team that have been in the middle of a media bubble for all the wrong reasons lately, Bray Wanders.
Last year’s beaten finalists Dundalk will play Derry City in an all premier division tie. Another top flight encounter will see Finn Harps take on Bohemians.
Limerick are away to Cobh Ramblers in all first Division tie, and there are three non-league versus Premier encounters with Portmarnock taking on St Pat’s, Glenville have the short trip to make for their encounter with Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium while Killester United host a Galway United side that will welcome the distraction from their league struggles.
There will be at least three non-league sides in the second round as Bluebell United and Sheriff meet in a Dublin derby, Crumlin’s Bangor Celtic face Everton of Cork and Cobh Wanderers will play Killarney Celtic.
First Division Waterford play Shelbourne, Wexford tackle Crumlin United, and UCD will face local opposition in Cabinteely.
Kilkenny side Evergreen will have home advantage against Drogheda United.
The games will be played the weekend of August 11-13 and with no replays being scheduled for the first town rounds extra-time and penalties will be used if necessary.
