Longford Town looking to bounce back

This evening Longford Town are away to Wexford in the SSE Airtricity League first division as they will look to bounce back from a first defeat under new manager Neale Fenn at home to Waterford last week.

Speaking to our Sports Editor John Lynch, Fenn talked about that game and the disappointment of the defeat

“We were happy with the performance but not with the result”

“We rode our luck a bit in the first half as they had some decent chances but I thought we dominated the second half and fully deserved something out of the game”

An unfortunate goal was conceded by Longford but they will now have to focus on the challenge that awaits in Ferrycarrig Park

“We created a few chances the last day but couldn’t finish them so we will have to make sure when they come this evening that we take them”

Both Longford and Wexford were relegated from the Premier Division last season and have found the transition of being in the lower tier tough but with eight games left to play they will be hoping to end the season on a high.

The game kicks off at 8pm this evening and to hear the full interview with Neale Fenn listening to the audio below
