Kildare and Longford will have to battle it out again after a dramatic Leinster quarter-final finished Kildare 1-21 to Longford’s 3-15.
Trailing by seven points after 41 minutes, Padraic Davis’ side fought back to force extra-time on a 2-14 to 1-17 scoreline, Mark Hughes’ 54th minute goal proving the catalyst for their comeback.
James McGivney struck the upright in the last action of normal time, in what would have secured Longford a semi-final spot against Dublin.
Kildare started extra-time fast opening up a three-point lead, but Longford levelled again through a Mickey Quinn goal at the end of the first period.
The second period produced no further scores, meaning the sides will return to Tullamore next Sunday for the replay which will throw-in at 3 o’clock.
