Longford Aim For O’Byrne Cup Semi-Final

Longford aim to progress to the semi-final of the Bord Na Mona O’Byrne Cup when they take on Kildare on Sunday.

Denis Cullerton’s team won out the first game of the campaign by 2-13 to 1-10 against Louth, with goals coming from Pauric Gill and Andrew Farrell.


On Wednesday evening Louth overcame Kildare by 2-11 to nine points at the Hawkfield centre of excellence.

A result for Longford would set up a semi-final against Carlow, Meath or Wicklow.

Longford great Liam Tierney explained to Dave Hooper, that Longford’s smaller pool of players may be an assist in the O’Byrne Cup.
