Longford bowed out of the Electric Ireland Leinster minor championship after a two point defeat to Laois 2-14 to 2-12 in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
It was very close to a big come back from Longford who had trailed by seven points at half-time 1-8 to 2-9, Laois having opened a 2-5 to 0-2 lead after 16 minutes.
A second half goal from Tiernan Hussey pulled Longford back into the game reducing the score to three points on 2-7 to 2-10.
Laois kept the difference to three points, before a Jack Duggan point in injury time reduced the deficit to two points, but Longford were unable to close the gap and lost out 2-12 to 2-14.
Longford will now enter the Leinster minor shield competition.
