Killoe Emmet Og booked their place in the 2019 Peter Hanley Motors Longford SFC final with a convincing 2-10 to 11 point win over Colmcille.
Killoe blasted out of the blocks and found themselves 1-4 to one point ahead after 13 minutes, through a Ronan McGoldrick goal and two Daniel Mimnagh points.
Cathal McCabe and Rory Hawkins combined to drag Colmcille back into the game as by a point heading to the break, Killoe lead 1-6 to eight points.
However Sean McCormack blasted into the net, in the first minute of additional time with Mark Hughes adding a point as Killoe led by five at the break 2-7 to eight points.
The goal killed off Colmcille as it would take 22 second half minutes for them to register a score, this after Cathal Reilly had received a black card, Daniel Mimnagh and Denis McGoldrick having extended the Killoe lead.
Barry McKeon and Sean McCormack exchanged free’s as Killoe kept Colmcille at bay with both sides finishing the game with 14 men.
Killoe’s Michael Quinn seeing red a minute before the end with a second yellow card, while Colmcille’s Alan McKeon collected a second yellow card in the second minute of stoppage time.
Paul McKeon sent over a late free, but it wasn’t near enough as Killoe progressed to the October sixth final on a 2-10 to 11 points scoreline.
