Longford GAA’s plans to expand Glennon Brothers Pearse Park have moved a step closer.
Longford county board chairman Eamon Reilly told delegates at last night’s Longford county board that the appeal lodged with An Bord Pleanála had been withdrawn.
The county board must now wait five to seven working days for the process to complete.
If the process is complete without objection, Longford GAA hope to have the new west stand in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park available for the opening game of the Leinster senior football championship against Meath on the week ending May 27th.
Big news story of the week, we have been working on this behind the scenes for the last number of weeks.
We have had sight of a letter that has been sent to An Bord Pleanála removing the objection.
It will be a tight schedule to have the stand open for May, but we would be hopeful to have at least the west stand open and we can proceed with the first round of the championship.
Longford county board chairman Eamon Reilly was speaking to Shannonside Sport’s John Duffy.
