Neale Fenn has made his first signing of the summer transfer window with the capture of Dylan Grimes from Dublin junior club Sheriff YC.
21-year-old Grimes previous played with Shelbourne departing 12 months ago having failed to nail down a regular place in the Shelbourne first team in 2018.
“Dylan is a tricky player, he’s got an eye for goal he’s good at set pieces” explained Fenn. “He can play anywhere across the midfield and across the midfield and at 10.”
“He’s very skilful and I’m hopeful he will be a very good signing for us” added Fenn.
Grimes joined the Reds’ under-19 with his former schoolboy coach Anto Kennedy back in 2014 from the renowned schoolboy club Home Farm squad
Grimes made his Shels first team debut back in 2015 under Kevin Doherty in a 1-0 away victory over Drogheda United but has since found game time hard to come by in recent seasons.
His final appearance for Shelbourne was in the 5-0 win over Athlone Town in June last year where he was subbed off in the 62nd minute at the Athlone Town Stadium.
