Fenn disappointed after Harps strike final note

The game was Ninety minutes old when Sam Todd struck the winner for Finn Harps in a game Longford Town put in a strong display.

Longford Town were beaten by two goals to one by Finn Harps in the City Calling stadium on Saturday night in their SSE Airtricity League first division encounter.

Mark Coyle opened the scoring for Finn Harps in the sixth minute. Dylan McGlade equalised for Longford Town in first half injury time. But the visitors snatched a winner through a 90th minute goal from Sam Todd.

Longford Town manager Neale Fenn spoke to Deniese O’Flaherty after the game and he was dejected.

Elsewhere, Athlone Towns first division match away to Cabinteely was abandoned. During the second-half, the floodlights at Stradbrook failed and the referee abandoned the fixture. The game will be replayed with a new date for the fixture set to be announced in due course.
