Dublin began the defence of their Leinster Under-20 Football Title with a 3-10 to 0-9 win over Longford at Parnell Park writes Michael Cooke.
There were only three points between the sides with seven minutes remaining before late goals from Ciaran Archer and Conor Kinsella embellished the Dublin scoreline.
The hosts led 1-3 to three points after thirteen minutes with the opening goal from Lorcan O’Dell separating the sides.
Dylan Farrell (0-2) and Oran Kenny were on target for Longford.
Oran Kenny, Eoghan McCormack and Dario Cigliano subsequently added a point each for the visitors as the sides went in level at 1-3 to six points at half-time.
The second-half got off to a bad start for Longford when Aidan McGuire was dismissed for a black card as well as an earlier booking.
Dublin capitalized on their one-man advantage opening up a five-point gap after 47 minutes.
Oran Kenny and Aaron Farrell added a point each for the Midlanders restoring a three-point deficit in the 53rd minute. Dylan Farrell registered the only other Longford score, slotting over a free in injury time.
Dublin finished with a flourish as Ciaran Archer scored 1-1 in the concluding stages with substitute Conor Kinsella also finding the net giving them a ten-point buffer at the final whistle.
