Davis Hopes For Gallagher And Fox Dubs Return

Longford manager Pauric Davis hopes to have Darren Gallagher and Pat available for Saturday’s O’Byrne Cup semi-final with Dublin.

Davis side had already booked their semi-final with the Dubs ahead of last Saturday’s 2-9 to 0-14 defeat to Wicklow in Aughrim.

“We would hope that Darren would have improved and recovered from a flu which he had over the Christmas” explained Davis.

“Pat Fox has a knee injury he picked up in training over the Christmas, but I think he should be ok for the Dublin game.”

“It’s certainly a case of fingers crossed, there two hugely important players, but let’s not forget our younger players Joe Hagan, Oran Kenny and Aidan Maguire among others from the under-20 squad, bit by bit we’ll get them all back.”

The Dubs are expected to travel in numbers to Glennon Brothers Pearse Park as the game will see Dessie Farrell were the bainisteoir bib for the first time.
