Davis Believes League and Experiment Shouldn’t Mix

The Longford senior footballers get their season underway against Wicklow in the O’Byrne Cup this Saturday evening.

The match takes place in Newtonforbes at 7pm.

The five experimental rule changes for Gaelic football sanctioned by Central Council will be enforced in the O’Byrne Cup.

Longford manager Pauric Davis doesn’t mind playing with the new rules but takes issue with them being trialled in the national league.

The former Mohill manager is looking forward to his first competitive game in charge of his county.
