Leitrim made it two wins from two when beating Wicklow by 1-16 to 1-12 in a thrilling encounter at Aughrim.
Conor McGraynor putted the Wicklow into a 1-12 to 0-14 lead late on but Ryan O’Rourke scored a late goal in the 69th minute.
Shane Moran and Gary Plunkett both posted injury-time points for Terry Hyland’s charges, who amassed a brilliant 1-14 from play.
Mark Doyle’s goal gave John Evans’ men a 1-5 to 0-7 interval lead and they still led after McGraynor hit the follow-up to goalkeeper Mark Jackson’s fifth point.
With Leitrim looking lost, the game changed when Pearce Dolan went on a big run and crossed the ball for Ryan O’Rourke to tap to the net from inside the square and suddenly Leitrim were flying.
Leitrim played keep-ball for a couple of minutes and still managed to get two wonderful points from Shane Moran and sub Gary Plunkett to seal a memorable victory.
But the visitors finished impressively to register a four point win and make it two win’s from two.
