Leitrim Make Lory Meagher Cup Final

Leitrim booked their place in the Lory Meagher Cup final with a 2-18 to 1-16 victory over Fermanagh.

Martin Cunniffe’s side needed to win by five points and a late Gary O’Hanlon point ensured that was the case.

Leitrim got the perfect start with Clement Cunniffe getting a goal in the second minute. Fermanagh got a first-half goal of their own through Conor McShea.

Leitrim finished the half strongly with Ben Murray hitting a goal and the half-time scoreline read Leitrim 2-06 Fermanagh 1-06.

The quality contest saw Fermanagh’s John Duffy put two points between them in the 55th minute but Leitrim finished the game strongly to get themselves into the Croke Park decider against Lancashire.

Last years beaten finalists Lancashire booked their place with a 1-26 to 1-7 success over Cavan.
