Conor Dolan’s last gasp free handed Glencar/Manorhamilton a dramatic in the Connacht Gold Leitrim senior final over heartbroken Ballinamore Sean O’Heslin’s.
Dolan’s last gasp point sealed a 16 points to 15 win over 14-man Ballinamore in the Leitrim SFC final at Avantcard Pairc Sean MacDiarmada.
Man of the match Dolan posted 0-7 split the posts in the fifth minute of injury-time from a tight angle as Glencar/Manor lifted the Fenagh Cup after an eight-year lapse.
Ballinamore were searching for their first title since 1998 led five points to one after only six minutes, but Glencar responded with seven points on the spin from Evan Sweeney, Dolan and Darren Sweeney (two ’45s) to lead by three after 21 minutes.
Glencar/Manor had both the lead and an extra man for the second half and they went four up through scores from Feargal Rooney and Adrian Croal.
Dominic Corrigan’s charges rallied with four unanswered points to regain parity at the end of the third quarter.
Pat Gilmartin and Dolan restored Glencar’s lead, only for Luke Murphy to level again with a brace of frees.
Dolan had the final say in injury time as Glencar/Manor celebrated their 50th anniversary with the county title.
